Happy first day of December to you! I can’t believe 2014 is almost over, can you? It seems like only yesterday I welcomed the New Year declaring the theme in the La Domestique kitchen,
“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food.”
My passion for helping you cook deliciously healthy meals has only grown since then. It’s fed by everyday conversations when you tell me over and over again, “I really want to eat healthy food at home but I just can’t seem to make a habit of it. I just don’t have enough time.”
I want you to know I’m listening and I really want to help.
It’s been a bit quiet around here because I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I’m working on something big. Something that could really help you make a fresh start in 2015.
As the cold, dark winter days draw in I feel a great sense of energy, like a seedling sprouting under the frozen ground. It made me think of the words of Irish author Edna O’Brien,
“Winter is the real Spring– the time when the inner things happen,
the resurgence of nature.”
Winter is especially good for thinking and planning, for dreaming and wishing. I’m still trying to get where I want to be, how about you? It’s time I shared more of my personal journey with you, so that you will know we’re in this together. I’m not perfect. Some nights I’m too tired to cook and instead order a pizza. After celebrating my 32nd birthday I realized my body may be slim but neglecting to exercise was taking its toll on my health. There are times when I feel paralyzed by anxiety and stress. I won’t be defeated though, and neither should you. The life we want is right in front of us for the making.
So what is this big thing I’m planning? It’s a program to help you (and me) build the very best habits for 2015. It’s all the recipes, meal plans and shopping lists you’ll need to cook simple deliciously healthy meals at home without having to think about it.
I can’t wait to tell you more about it. Soon…
